The horizontal solution heat treat furnace is used for heat treating smaller components and provides many of the features of more expensive drop bottom type furnaces.
Custom Heat Treat Furnaces
An aircraft parts manufacturer in Mexico needed a solution heat treating system that could handle large batches of aluminum parts. Despatch designed a custom heat treat system that included a bottom-load furnace, quench tanks, load car, stationary water rinse tank and two custom aluminum aging ovens.
The furnace operates at 260° - 593°C (500° - 1100°F) with ±2.8°C (±5°F) uniformity after stabilization. A load hoist mounted inside the furnace lifts the parts rack up into the furnace, then lowers the heated parts into the selected quench tank within seven seconds of the end of the heating cycle. The system features a touch-screen PLC controller with screens in both English and Spanish. PLC control of the material handling equipment and processing parameters allows virtual “one-touch” operation with minimal operator input.
